# Getting started with CaptivateIQ connectors

> Connect AI platforms like Claude to your live CaptivateIQ compensation and planning data with the CaptivateIQ MCP server.

Connect AI tools like Claude to your live CaptivateIQ compensation and planning data. Your AI tool can only see the data your CaptivateIQ permissions allow.

## Choose your AI tool

Bring your CaptivateIQ data into your AI assistant.

## How connectors work

Your AI tool calls CaptivateIQ tools using your account and shows the results in the conversation.

### Requirements

* A CaptivateIQ account in an organization with MCP access enabled. During early access, MCP is intended for organization admins, and what you can see depends on your role. To request early access, contact [support@captivateiq.com](mailto:support@captivateiq.com).
* An AI tool that supports remote MCP servers. See [Other AI tools](/connectors/mcp#other-ai-tools) for details.
* CaptivateIQ permissions for the data you want to query. The MCP server never grants more access than your user already has.

### Connecting CaptivateIQ

1. Choose your AI tool above and follow its setup guide.
2. Sign in with your CaptivateIQ credentials. CaptivateIQ uses OAuth, so you don't create or paste API tokens.
3. Ask your assistant a question about your CaptivateIQ data.

## What you can access

| **Plans and employees** | Look up commission plans, employees, plan assignments, and employee assumptions |
| **Calculations** | Inspect worksheets, columns, and period groups |
| **Payouts** | Review payouts and payout dates |
| **Source data and reports** | Explore data and transformation workbooks, report models, and report outputs |
| **Exports** | Start CSV exports of worksheets and report outputs, and check their status |
